On Saturday, about five-and-a-half inches of ice had to be cut with chainsaws to let people plunge into Lake Arthur for the ninth annual Douse for a House event at Moraine State Park, Muddy Creek Township. Butler County Water Rescue Team 300 wades into the icy Lake Arthur Satuday to assist with the Douse for House fundraising event at Moraine State Park in Muddy Creek Township. This year’s oldest plunger Saturday at the Douse for a House event was 85-year-old Duane Harms. He joined 66 other people jumping into the icy Lake Arthur at Moraine State Park, Muddy Creek Township. A team of about 10 people from New Castle VFW Post 315 ran into Lake Arthur together Saturday for the Douse for a House event at Moraine State Park in Muddy Creek Township. They all wore matching shark hats. In the past, they've dressed as penquins or valentines. Tanner Cole/Butler Eagle

They are all from Litterbox Bingo, held on Sunday afternoon at Family Bowlaway to raise funds for Stray Solutions Animal Rescue and Homeless Cats of Butler. The first-time event raised $4,500, which will be split between the two organizations.
