Heavy rains this season have wreaked havoc on Thiele Farms corn crop. Over saturation of some sections of corn fields has stunted crop growth and yellowed unhealthy crops. While other corn planted during the same time period has grown normally. Excessive rains and resulting drainage has also washed way fertilizer on select portions of fields (pictured) causing noticeable disparities in crop growth. Seb Foltz/Butler Eagle

Excessive water in certain parts of the field has also washed much needed fertilzer from the soil, stunting large sections of crop growth. Excessive rains and overly saturated portions of land have stunted growth among crops planted in the same field as healther crops in soil was less saturated and able to hold fertilizer.
