Lifelong Butler County resident Jim Davis, 100, of Center Township, surrounded by his family, listens to County Commissioner Kevin Boozel, who came to Davis' home and read a proclamation from a safe distance that declared March 23 "James R. Davis Sr. Day" in the county in honor of his 100th birthday. The large party planned for March 22 at American Legion post 117 in Butler had to be cancelled due to the coronavirus. A handful of local relatives made a dinner at his home and celebrated with cake just before Boozel's arrival.
